My GLP-1 support routine
Hey everyone! I’m Naomi. Quick background on me: I’ve been in the group for over a year now. I’ve lost 84 pounds on Mounjaro and I’ve had my fair share of side effects. I’ve tried a LOT of products to help manage my side effects. Over the past 18 months I’ve kept a list of everything in my notes app. I’ve seen so many people in this group asking for advice on what supplements and or other products to help them manage their medication side effects. I thought I’d give back to the group by organizing everything and sharing with you the routine I’ve found to work well for myself with my rating and links to buy everything else as well.
I hope this helps!
NOTE:
this is everything I’ve tried so far, but I continue to edit with updates every couple weeks whenever I try something new or change my current routine.

SEMERA STABALIZE
What I like:
This is the best supplement I have found in the GLP-1 support/companion category.
Before I even bought it though, I did my due diligence by looking at the label and comparing it to everything else and it has everything I was looking for. It covers the nutrient bases like Natures Made GLP-1 Companion, however all the vitamins and minerals also come in the highest forms. The magnesium is magnesium Citrate, the zinc is bisglycinate chelate, etc…
I could go through every ingredient on the list and it’s in the most bioavailable form. So I’m very impressed with that. It has 15 ingredients total, but it really is 4 complete formulas in 1, what I mean by that is it has all those great vitamins and minerals (in bioavailable forms), there is a digestive comfort blend, an energy & vitality complex and a nutrient replenishment matrix.
Those are all the things I like looking at the label, that’s what convinced me to buy it (it is pricey).
Then there are the things I like about taking it, it makes me feel SOO much better. In EVERY way it feels like.
The first and most immediate benefit I felt from it was the regularity. I went from going once every 3 days to once every single morning without fail. Next was and still is the energy, after 3-4 weeks of taking this, I got so much energy back it’s unbelievable.
I started hanging out with my husband and kids more, saying yes to more activities with friends, going to dinner more.
I can’t describe how much this has done for me. I sleep well, I poop well, I digest well, I have more energy. The last and maybe the biggest thing this has done for me has been the fact that I no longer dread injection day anymore.
I am the type of person when I started Mounjaro that my injection days and the 48 hours after were the WORST! I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t poop, I had zero energy, I was rotting in bed, I didn’t want to know food existed, yet alone eat it. It was so bad. After taking this the difference is night and day. I still feel shittier after my injection day, but I can still get stuff done, I can go to the store, I can play with my kids. So it’s safe to say there’s a lot I like about it. It has been the single most impactful supplement I have tried in my life.
What I dislike:
The price!!!! It is so expensive. A single bottle for a 30 day supply is $79. That’s more than double the price I pay for anything else in my routine.
Why it's in my routine:
It’s the most effective supplement I have ever tried. It’s the first supplement I’ve tried that I have felt so many benefits so clearly. If I stop taking it for 3 days I notice it. In addition to that it replaced 5 other supplements I was taking so now instead of taking 7 pills per day I take 2.
Would I recommend:
YES, but with a BIG caveat. I think 90% of people don’t need this, but if you need this, you REALLY should buy it. Let me explain what I mean. If you’re the type of person whose side effects aren’t that bad. Maybe you have occasional bloating and you take a magnesium glycinate before bed and that’s it. Don’t buy this. It’s so expensive and is formulated to target essentially every GLP-1 side effect, that if you’re not experiencing that, it’s not worth it. However if you’re like I was and had multiple different side effects, I would say 3 or more of the ones on this list: bloating, sulfur burps, diarrhea, constipation, low energy, nausea, dizziness, gas, headaches, brain fog… (I might be forgetting some). I would recommend it. Here’s why: I had multiple side effects. Constipation, extreme fatigue and nausea after eating and I was taking so many different things to combat that. I was taking 7 pills PER day. That I actually spend less money taking Semera now.

Ultima Electrolyte Mix
What I like:
Honestly this one kind of snuck up on me. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. I started using it because I was getting headaches pretty regularly and someone in a Mounjaro group I'm in mentioned that on GLP-1s you can get dehydrated way faster than you realize because you're just not eating or drinking as much. Made total sense. So I grabbed Ultima because it was highly recommended and had no sugar, no artificial stuff, and a good electrolyte profile.
What I actually like about it most is the taste. I have the raspberry flavor and it doesn't taste like medicine or like those gross overly sweet sports drinks. It tastes like a light, slightly tart lemonade-ish drink. I actually look forward to drinking it which is saying something because I was barely getting any fluids in before. Since adding it to my routine my headaches have basically disappeared and I feel so much more clear-headed throughout the day. It also dissolves completely which sounds like a small thing but I hate when powders clump or leave weird residue at the bottom.
What I dislike:
Some of the flavors are just not it. I tried the grape and poured it down the drain. Stick to raspberry or lemonade. Also the tub runs out faster than you'd think if you're doing one serving a day, which I recommend.
Why it's in my routine:
Hydration on GLP-1s is genuinely something you have to be intentional about. Water alone wasn't cutting it for me. This fixed the headaches, helps me actually drink more throughout the day and it's one of those things where I notice pretty quickly when I run out and haven't ordered more yet.
Would I recommend:
Yes, especially if you're on a GLP-1 and dealing with headaches, brain fog or just general blah-ness that you can't explain. A lot of that stuff is just dehydration and missing electrolytes. This is an easy and actually enjoyable fix.

OMNI Creatine Gummy
What I like:
Okay so I was super skeptical of creatine in gummy form. It felt very gimmicky to me. I had tried creatine powder before and hated dealing with it, the mixing, the texture, making sure I was getting the full dose. So I kind of gave up on creatine altogether. Then I saw these and figured why not.
And honestly? They work. I have been taking them for about two months now and the difference in my strength and muscle fullness is noticeable. I care about this a lot because being on Mounjaro means you're losing weight fast and if you're not intentional about it, you lose muscle too. Creatine helps with that. The gummies make it so easy. I take them like candy, no mixing, no measuring, no nasty texture. They taste good, they're convenient and I actually remember to take them every day because they don't feel like a chore.
What I dislike:
You have to take like 4-5 gummies to get a full 5g dose which is fine but it adds up. The bottle doesn't last as long as you'd expect if you're eyeing the serving count. Also they're a little chewy in a way that can stick to your teeth, nothing major but worth mentioning.
Why it's in my routine:
Muscle preservation on GLP-1s is so important and so easy to overlook. Creatine is one of the most well-researched supplements out there and the gummy format is the only reason I'm actually consistent with it.
Would I recommend:
Yes, especially if you've tried creatine powder and hated it like I did. If the format was always the barrier, this solves that.

Bulk Supplements HMB Powder
What I like:
This one is not glamorous at all. The packaging is basically a plain white bag with a label on it. No frills whatsoever. But what I like is exactly that, you're paying for the ingredient and nothing else. HMB is something I added specifically because I read a lot about muscle loss on GLP-1 medications and HMB is specifically studied for preventing muscle breakdown, which is exactly what I needed.
The powder mixes okay, I just throw it in my protein shake and don't really notice it. Taste is basically nothing, very slightly bitter but nothing that affects the shake at all. And the price is unbeatable. For what you're getting it's incredibly affordable compared to anything else in my routine.
What I dislike:
It's not exciting and it's hard to tell if it's doing something on its own. I'm taking it alongside creatine and protein so it's genuinely difficult to isolate what HMB specifically is contributing. I believe in the research behind it but it's not something I can point to and say I FEEL this working the way I can with other things.
Why it's in my routine:
Muscle preservation, plain and simple. I'm doing everything I can to make sure the weight I'm losing is fat and not muscle. HMB, creatine and protein are my three-pronged approach to that.
Would I recommend:
Yes if you're on a GLP-1 and being serious about body composition. No if you're looking for something you'll feel or notice in a tangible way. It's more of a background player.

Naked Whey Protein Powder
What I like:
Clean label, nothing weird. That's what got me to buy it and it's what keeps it in my routine. When you're on a GLP-1 and your appetite is so suppressed, the food you do eat needs to count. I'm not going to use a protein powder that has a bunch of artificial sweeteners, fillers and stuff I can't pronounce when my body is barely asking for food to begin with.
Naked Whey is just whey protein concentrate, sunflower lecithin and that's basically it. The unflavored version tastes like nothing which is perfect because I add it to smoothies and I don't want a fake vanilla flavor fighting with my fruit. The protein per serving is solid and it mixes fine with a blender. I've noticed a real difference in how I feel since consistently hitting my protein goals. More energy, better workouts, I feel more like myself physically.
What I dislike:
It doesn't mix great with just a shaker cup. You kind of need a blender or a blender bottle with the whisk ball or it gets a little clumpy. Also the unflavored version is genuinely flavorless which I love, but if you want something that tastes good on its own, this isn't it. You have to build around it.
Why it's in my routine:
Protein is the most important macro when you're losing weight on a GLP-1 and eating less overall. This is the cleanest, simplest way I've found to hit my numbers without putting junk in my body.
Would I recommend:
Yes, especially if you care about clean ingredients and don't need your protein powder to taste like a dessert. It's a foundational, boring, necessary staple and I mean that as a compliment.
